Practice and Feedback

After one has learned the "basics", practice WITH feedback provides the next step to high level thinking and learning. It is in this phase of instruction that the opportunity to succeed and fail are provides, along with specific, timely feedback on what went well, and what areas need improvement.  Check out the video below and share your feedback about the importance of practice and feedback.

  1. Did the video provide new information for you?
  2. Adequate practice and feedback are often neglected due to time constraints.  Either there isn't enough time in the day or not enough days in the year ("I have to get through all of THIS before the state test").  What strategies have you come up with to provide your students with adequate practice and feedback within the amount of time available?
